At Absolute Fitness, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than just a sport, self-defense system, or fitness program; it's a lifestyle that improves the whole person. Jiu-Jitsu's physical, mental, and transcendent benefits should be accessible to everyone, from beginners to world-class competitors and any age, sex, or ethnicity.
I have been studying, training, and competing all across the United States for eight years, amassing a long list of tournament golds as well as meeting great people and mentors. Jiu-Jitsu is a fantastic sport. It has forever positively changed my life, and I am very grateful for all the men and women I am surrounded by daily.
Aside from Jiu-Jitsu, I have two degrees from WTAMU. Before I started Jiu-Jitsu (at age 25), I played and coached basketball through the college ranks.
My passion and love for the sport go beyond the mats, from kids Jiu-Jitsu to an average joe wanting to get back in shape and have fun.
I am 4 stripes blue belt under my professor, Kyle Short.
I have been grappling for over 20 years, having started with Wrestling in middle school in 1999. I became a teacher just so I could be around Wrestling, as I loved it very much, and it became a staple in my life.
Soon after moving to Texas in 2015, I was no longer a Wrestling Coach but still desired to grapple. My attention turned to BJJ, where I met (and worked) with Coach Kyle.
I was awarded my purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under Professor Kyle Short and trained for four years.
I've competed at the highest level at my rank, placing 2nd at IBJJF Adult Worlds in Long Beach 2018 and 1st internationally at the Las Vegas IBJJF open in 2018, which earned me the ranking of #29 in the world in my division.
